Taking Action to Create A Positive Life

As I’ve gotten older, my life has changed.  Our sons have moved off on their own and life is really ours to live.  My husband and I have dreams that we are well on our way to fulfilling but it will take some time to get to the goals we’ve set.

I started Happy Fix as a way to encourage people to take action and create their happiest life.  The key to Happy Fix is you have to do something in areas you want to improve, not just think about it.

Some of the improvements I want to make in my life are in the areas of health, work and quality of life.  Moving to the east coast of North Carolina, improving physical fitness and  working in a field that is meaningful and can have a positive impact on the lives of many people are all important goals for me.

None of that gets done if I just sit around and think about it.

Change Requires Action

Change requires action.  It’s not sexy.  It’s not easy.  Sometimes it’s incredibly stressful but ask yourself this, “What’s more stressful? Staying where you are or taking necessary action that helps you reach your goals and fulfill your dreams?”  There is no contest.

I worry sometimes, that people are afraid to try to improve their lives.  There’s always a reason why they can’t pursue a goal or make some changes that will benefit them in the long run.  Maybe the problem seems to big.  Maybe they don’t feel like they will be supported because when you change, it sometimes changes the way you are perceived by family and friends.  Whether the reasons go seen or unseen, they are there.

I know that if I want to improve my physical condition I need to eat more nutritionally.  I also have to commit to exercise which helps me physically and mentally.  If I want to move to the beach, I have to get the house I currently live in ready to sell and find a house there.  As I build Happy Fix, I know I am on my way to fulfilling my vocational goals.

There’s a lot of stress out there for a lot of reasons.  It’s easy to talk about change, harder, though,  to take action to create it.  If there’s something you think needs improvement, create a plan and execute it.  Thinking or complaining about it will not result in change.  Only action will.  The cool thing is we all have it in us.  We can accomplish great things if we take that first action step.  Show the world your brilliance.  What action can you take today?
